Happy Columbus Day All!
Hope you had a great weekend. I applaud the Big Dreamers and encourage you to now wake up and live it forward. I encourage those without a dream to discover a personal reason to find one!
I digress…Dare To Do It!
According to the dictionary, to dare means to have the necessary courage or boldness for something. I remember when I started writing my new book years ago, my schedule, negative thoughts of doubt and voices of defeat all seemed to conspire against me, with reasons why I shouldn’t go for it. However, I believe that words have power, and when I make up my mind to do something and then make a verbal declaration about it, I tend move forward to do everything in my power to accomplish it - even if it scares me or I have no clue how to accomplish it. So, in the case of writing my book, I dared to…just get started.
Some people are stuck in a place of discouragement, procrastination, fear, lack of resources, support or the like. However, by choosing to put one foot in front of the other and purposing to complete at least one task a day until the dream is realized, the goal can be reached. We only have one life to live on this earth and one chance to live it. If you are passionate about something and feel that your life’s purpose depends on it, dare to do it! When the questions or voices of doubt, defeat and fear present themselves, in whatever form they come, I have some effective responses you can use:
What if I fail? Dare to do it anyway!
What if no one agrees with me? Dare to accept that and do it anyway!
What if this has never been done before? Dare to be a trailblazer!
What if it takes longer than I thought? Dare to be patient until it gets done!
What if it’s harder than I thought? Dare to put in the hard work!
What if no one does it with me? Dare to go alone!
What if I stand out? Dare to be different?
What if no one encourages me? Dare to encourage yourself!
I’m Scared! Dare to do it in spite of the fear!
