Happy Monday Morning All!
The Smart Shopper VS. The Random Shopper.
There are many people who have already kicked off their holiday shopping season on Black Friday and have begun buying gifts for family, friends and themselves. I have never been one to rush out and shop for myself and/or others because of the holidays, Black Friday or because there is a huge sale on things that I probably wouldn’t buy if they weren’t on sale. I tend to focus on the holy days or the spiritual aspects of the season - but when I do shop, I have always been somewhat of a mindful but fun shopper. Shopping has to make sense to me and I like to make people smile (or laugh out loud) when I shop specifically for them.
However, I am not one of those people who love to go to the mall and walk around all day long or window shop. In that way, I am much like all of the guys in my house; I like to know what I’m going to buy, walk in the store and make my purchase, then leave. Of course, there is an exception to every rule. If I just happen to stop by a shoe store and find a pair or style of shoes that I have been looking for that happen to be on sale, or a good deal…well, that’s another experience entirely.
So, that’s just a bit of my shopping back-story. What’s yours? Before some of you get a bit carried away with shopping, I like to help you out or leave you with a few questions that may save you from wasting time and/or money or help you determine if you are a Smart Shopper or the Random Shopper.
While shopping, are you:
Spending money you don’t have?
Buying things you don’t need?
Impressing people you don’t like?
Using your credit card to buys things that you can’t afford?
Comparing what you are buying to purchases by people who don’t matter?
Making impulse purchases?
Guaranteeing that you will be in debt at the beginning of 2016?
Have a great week…on purpose!
